You said yes to your soul mate! Congratulations! Now the planning process begins and you want everything on your big day to be perfect. Who wouldn’t? After all, it’s a day you’ll want to remember forever. The paradox of it all is that it’ll only last for a few hours. Then all you will have left is the memories. This is why wedding photography is a big deal that you can’t afford to get wrong. This post will help to ensure that you end up with the best wedding photos for your keepsake.
High-quality photos are captured by photographers who know their job. Even so, you need to work closely with the photographer you hire and agree on a number of details.
When looking for your perfect photographer, decide on the style you like best. Nowadays there are three main types of wedding photographers – traditional, who direct and take mostly posed photos; documentary photographers, who apply the “fly-on-the-wall” technique and capture the day and its emotions; and creative photographers who set up unusual and artistic shots. Of course during the day a single photographer may transition from one style to another (posing the bridal party for the perfect group shot, then trying some artistic shots with lights at nighttime). Still, before booking a photographer think about the way you would like your big day to be captured. Pay attention to the visual side – do you like soft and airy photos, dark and moody tones or vibrant natural colours? Read more at Olga Hogan Photography…
If you or your future spouse are photogenic, taking awesome shots is probably a no-brainer. If you typically shy away from taking pics, be sure that you feel comfortable with the photographer you choose. Planning an engagement shoot can help you create some pre-wedding day chemistry with your photographer.
One of the common mistakes couples make is to expect good photos without factoring in the necessities. What does it take to get what you hope for?
I can’t emphasize this enough. There have been times when we end up with 15 to 20 minutes of shooting time for wedding portraits. At the end of the day, the less time that we have, the less wedding portraits you get. Make time for it. Formals that happen right after the ceremony take time as well. We try to do them as fast as possible, but we can’t prevent that one relative from disappearing for the formals, even though they know they should be there. We would love to have 45 minutes to an hour at best. Also, plan sometime in between dinner and the beginning of the party. The reason I say that is because things are different as the sun goes down. That light is oh so beautiful right before sunset. All in all, if you want to get the best wedding photos, then plan for it. It takes time. Read more at Rudy and Marta…
As you allocate time, also allow enough for your photographer to be creative. This calls for a realistic shot list. If yours is too long, you may end up not getting the best work from your photographer.
Fall is always a beautiful time for a wedding. You are sure to get amazing photos if you plan well. Here are some tips for making the most of the season.
Take Advantage of the Fall Colors
With the stunning colors that come with fall, the reds and oranges and golds, even if they’re not part of your color palette, play with them a little bit in your photos! “Definitely take advantage of the fall colors, if you have them.” says Bickel. “If you’re getting married at a venue that doesn’t have foliage, try to build in a quick trip to a natural setting for your portraits. But be sure to be mindful of parking, walking time, and driving time when you’re working it into your timeline for the day.” Read more at Brides…
It takes effort to create beautiful memories of your special day. Don’t be afraid to make the financial investment necessary to secure professional photography services. The photos will be a major part of what you’ll have to remind you of the big day ten, twenty years down the line.
