In a recent website post, the editors at Martha Stewart Weddings observed: “Gone is the era of the cookie-cutter wedding; you can celebrate your own way. Forget the ‘have tos’ and ‘shoulds’ about nuptials. There are no hard-and-fast rules. Except one: Be a gracious bride and groom while letting your true style shine.”

Specifically addressing wedding dress colors, they affirm, “No matter its hue, you’ll look radiant in a knockout frock. … This season bridal designers showed scene-stealing creations in blush, pale blue, and even rich red.”

They are absolutely right about that. New York Bridal Fashion Week was awash in color and blush, or pale pinks of similar shade, were everywhere. In particular, Maggie Sottero, who is one of our favorite wedding dress designers here at New York Bride, showed some incredible pink gowns in both her signature collection and as part of the Sottero and Midgley show.

We especially loved the Sottero and Midgley gown style Simone (pictured). It features gorgeous embroidered lace on tulle beaded with dazzling Swarovski crystals overlaying a separate Demir Stretch Satin slip dress. The pieces are soft pink over light gold and, as you can see, look stunning together.

Other sensational pink-hued dresses from the two lines were styles Astrid and Velma (Maggie Sottero) and Kirby and Mason (Sottero and Midgley). All of these dresses can be seen on Pinterest on Maggie Sottero’s pinboard. Click HERE to see them, along with an array of pink accessories and decorating ideas that will enhance your wedding look.

If you’re thinking about walking down the aisle in a divinely colored gown, remember that New York Bride has exquisite wedding dresses available in a variety of shades. Come see us when you’re ready — no appointment necessary — and we’ll help you find the dress of your dreams.
